Watch New Born To Be Blue Trailer
Ethan Hawke is one of the most exciting actors around and he is set to return to the big screen this summer with his new film Born to be Blue.
The movie sees Hawke take on the real life role of jazz musician Chet Baker as he teams up with director and writer Robert Budreau.
Born to be Blue is only the second feature film from Budreau and comes a decade after he made his debut with That Beautiful Somewhere back in 2006.
We are going to have to wait until the end of the month for Born to be Blue to hit the big screen, but the brand new trailer for the film has been unveiled. Take a look:
Carmen Ejogo, Tony Nappo, Callum Keith Rennie, Stephen McHattie, and Janet-Laine Green complete the exciting cast list.
Ethan Hawke lights up the screen as jazz legend Chet Baker, whose tumultuous life is thrillingly re-imagined with wit, verve, and style to burn in Born To Be Blue. In the 1950s, Baker was one of the most famous trumpeters in the world, renowned as both a pioneer of the West Coast jazz scene and an icon of cool.
By the 1960s, he was all but washed up, his career and personal life in shambles due to years of heroin addiction. In his innovative anti-biopic, director Robert Budreau zeroes in on Baker’s life at a key moment in the 1960s, just as the musician attempts to stage a hard-fought comeback, spurred in part by a passionate romance with a new flame, played by Carmen Ejogo.
Creatively blending fact with fiction and driven by Hawke’s virtuoso performance, Born To Be Blue unfolds with all the stylistic brio and improvisatory genius of great jazz.
