KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia has voiced its disappointment at the United States’ move to exit the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) trade agreement.
Describing the move as an unfortunate turn around for the global economy, Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) Governor Datuk Muhammad Ibrahim said many things have been left unclear with United States’ withdrawal from the agreement.
“This has caused disorientation of the world corporation. Closing borders, building walls are not right as policy makers must be more connected with the needs of the people, not detached from them,” he said at the BNM-IMF Summer conference here on Tuesday.
