KUALA LUMPUR: Tycoon Tan Sri Vincent Tan says he has no plans to sell his interest in any of his football assets, including English Championship club Cardiff City Football Club (CCFC).
This includes Major League Soccer (MLS) club Los Angeles FC (LAFC), Bosnia’s FC Sarajevo and Belgium’s Kortrijk Voetbalt CVBA (KVK).
He was responding to a yesterday report headlined ‘Embattled Millionaire Plans to Sell Football Teams’.
Tan said CCFC had gone through a rough patch under a previous manager, which were now the subject of several legal suits initiated by CCFC.
“However, CCFC is turning around now in the good hands of Neil Warnock, who I think is a great manager and I believe it stands a good chance of being promoted again to the Premier League next season,” he said.
CCFC is currently 12th in the Championship standings.
“As valuations of MLS clubs are on the rise, I see LAFC as a great long term investment.
“However, for FC Sarajevo and KVK, the investments were not substantial compared with CCFC and LAFC and there is no reason to sell unless an attractive offer is made,” he said.
