Monday, 6 March 2017 : Supermodels Suki Waterhouse and David Gandy recently stepped out onto the streets of Milan, Italy for a photo shoot – and both looked truly divine.
The shoot – organised by British Airways to celebrate its low fares between style capitals London and Milan – was followed by a very British afternoon tea experience.
Waterhouse, 25, kicked off the activities by posing in a beautiful paper dress inspired by the airline’s heritage colours.
It was created by acclaimed British fashion designer and artist Zoe Bradley and took over 100 hours to assemble. The stunning head piece features real tickets passengers usually receive at the airport.
The dress travelled over 1,500km from Cardiff, Britain to Milan, Italy.
Waterhouse unveiled the hand-crafted masterpiece in front of the famous Cathedral in Duomo Square, flanked by British Airways pilots and cabin crew.
On the similarities between Milan and London, Gandy said: “Both cities are absolutely revered throughout the fashion world – and rightly so.
“The two cities are where models and designers alike want to be and for that reason, hold a very special bond.”
He added: “They both offer incredible places to shop but on top of that, you have the wonderful food, the culture and the people.
“Today, I had a great time exploring the city by road. It was nice to take a moment and soak it all up – usually I’m in the back of a car zooming from one shoot to the next. I really enjoyed taking the driver’s seat.”
After the shoot, The Berkeley Hotel in London provided VIP guests afternoon tea inspired by the themes and colours of the fashion world. They also enjoyed an exclusive fashion show of British Airways cabin crew outfits through the ages.
