Tanjung Malim – Total provisions for Le Tour de Langkawi (LTdL) and the Monsoon Cup next year will be determined in the near future.
Youth and Sports Minister, Khairy Jamaluddin said both prestigious event is expected to receive a reduction in provisions and the decision, he had his own to the organizers.
“For the Le Tour de Langkawi next year, we had to cut the grants provided by the government through the Ministry of Youth and Sports. The same goes for the Monsoon Cup chances are we can only give a very small grants.
“This is because the ministry does not have a large allocation for next year as much attention had to be given to the SEA Games in the capital.
According to him, the championship cycling and yacht should seek funding or sponsorship from outside, including from the private sector for next year.
“This is also a good development when viewed in a positive for the sport, for finally organizing a big event like this must have the support of the private sector and not necessarily the government.
