PUTRAJAYA: Malaysia recorded 76 new Covid-19 deaths on Wednesday (Oct 20), bringing the death toll to 28,138.
The 76 deaths include 14 “brought-in-dead” (BID) cases.
There are 81,955 active cases as of Oct 20, with 76.7% or 62,857 patients with mild infection and undergoing home quarantine while 14.6% or 11,966 patients are in low-risk quarantine centres (PKRC).
There are 6,466 patients in hospital for Covid-19 and 666 are in the intensive care unit (ICU).
A total of 9,401 patients had recovered on Wednesday.
According to the website, ICU utilisation nationwide is currently at 61.9%
Negri Sembilan and Labuan recorded the lowest utilisation at 22.7% and 25% respectively.
The Klang Valley ICU usage rate is 66.3%.
Meanwhile, a total of 94.2% of adults in the country have been fully vaccinated as of 11.59pm on Wednesday.
About 97.3% of people in Malaysia aged 18 and above have received at least one vaccination dose.
Sabah, the state with the slowest vaccination rate compared to the rest, has reached 71.3% fully vaccinated adults.
In terms of total population, 71.2% of people in Malaysia are fully vaccinated.
The adolescent vaccination programme so far has seen 79.7% of children aged below 18 already receiving at least one vaccination dose.
About 38.7% of adolescents are fully vaccinated.
