YANGON – Several Western countries have called on the government of Myanmar to expand the access of humanitarian aid to Rakhine state, when 86 people were killed and another 22,000 have fled since the beginning of military operations in the area.
Counsellors pressure on Aung San Suu Kyi to the crisis in the country intensified and United Nations (UN) also urged leaders went to Rakhine and persuade the population that they will be protected.
“We are so concerned with the delay and urged the Myanmar authorities to immediately solve the problem that caused the humanitarian aid does not reach the Rakhine.
“Approximately 10,000 people in need of humanitarian assistance, particularly children who suffer from eating disorders for almost two months,” said representatives from various countries such as France, the Netherlands, Spain, Turkey and the United States (US) said in a statement.
