Two hit by car while playing Pokemon Go

SUNGAI PETANI: Two men engrossed in the augmented-reality game Pokemon Go were injured  after they were hit by a car at Jalan Bakar Arang here on Friday morning, mStar Online reported.   

The Star’s Malay-language portal cited Kuala Muda OCPD Asst Comm Md Zukir Md Isa as saying that the victims – Tan Chin Kang, 35, and Teoh Koon Ee, 30 – were playing the game in front of a shop before they were hit by a white Proton Wira.  

“The car driver, however, fled the scene. Tan and Teoh suffered minor injuries,” he was quoted as saying in a statement.  

ACP Md Zukir said Tan, who is a factory manager suffered injuries to his left leg, while Teoh, a salesman, suffered cuts on the face, head, hand and leg.  

The victims were taken to the Sultan Abdul Halim Hospital for treatment.  

Police are investigating the incident.
