KUCHING: Teachers were today again advised not to have anything to do with the Daesh militants and their activities.
Education Minister Datuk Seri Mahdzir Khalid said they should not be easily influenced by what they read in the social media over the group’s activities and so called objectives.
“The greatest danger is they (Daesh) pose huge security threat to the nation. As teachers, you should be able to distinguish between the right and wrong,” he said.
He said this after presenting the special allocation to Chinese schools from the federal government, totalling RM3.640 million, to 68 such schools from Kuching, Samarahan, Serian, Sri Aman and Betong Divisions here yesterday. Earlier in Bintulu, he presented similiar allocation totalling RM5.4 million to 112 other Chinese schools from Sibu, Sarikei, Mukah, Bintulu, Miri and Limbang Divisions.
