KUALA LUMPUR: Legendary actor, Tan Sri Jins Shamsuddin dies at Klinik Idham in Taman Melawati, Selangor at around 5.45pm yesterday. He was 82.
According to his son, Putera Hang Nadim, his father had just finished his meal before he started having breathing difficulties after he choked on his food. They rushed him to the clinic but realised that he has parted in the car en route to the clinic.
Jins was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s Disease (AD) since 2011.
The actor rose to fame as Sergeant Jamil in the epic movie, Bukit Kepong and later acted in several notable films including Sarjan Hassan and the sappy and melodramatic, Esok Untuk Siapa franchise.
The final rites for Jins conducted at Ar-Ridhuan Mosque Hulu Klang at 8am, before his remains is laid to rest at the Hulu Klang Muslim burial ground at 10am today.
He was survived by Puan Sri Halijah Abdullah and three children, Jefri Jins, Putera Hang Jebat and Putera Hang Nadim.
