KUALA LUMPUR (Bernama): Sixteen ministers are expected to wind-up the debate on the motion of thanks for the Royal Address on behalf of their respective ministries in Parliament on Wednesday (Sept 22).
According to the Order of the Dewan Rakyat meeting, the winding-up will be by, among others, the Defence Ministry, Home Ministry, Finance Ministry, Education Ministry, Works Ministry and the Communications and Multimedia Ministry.
Meanwhile, during the Oral Question and Answer session, the issues to be raised will include the minimum wage review, cases involving violation of the status of food and halal products and on youth employment during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Effectiveness of Covid-19 assessment centres among issues to be raised in Parliament Wednesday (Sept 22)
KUALA LUMPUR: The effectiveness of Covid-19 assessment centres and the mental health of police personnel are among issues to be raised in the Dewan Rakyat on Wednesday (Sept 22).
Datuk Mohd Fasiah Mohd Fakeh (PN-Sabak Bernam) will be asking Health Minister Khairy Jamaluddin about the effectiveness of the Covid-19 assessment centres set up nationwide.
Khairy will also be questioned by Datuk Abdullah Sani Abdul Hamid (PH-Kapar) on the status of government's hospital equipment used to treat Covid-19 patients since the pandemic outbreak.
On the other hand, Datuk Robert Lawson Chuat (GPS-Betong) wants Home Minister Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainudin Hamzah to state the actions taken against those behind the smuggling of illegal immigrants into Sarawak.

KUALA LUMPUR: The nationwide vaccination programme, face masks and the rollout of Undi18 are among the issues that will be raised in the Dewan Rakyat on Tuesday (Sept 21) when lawmakers continue debates on the Royal Address.
Datuk Zakaria Mohd Edris (PN-Libaran) wants Science, Technology and Innovation Minister Datuk Seri Dr Adham Baba to reveal the amount of money spent on the nationwide vaccination programme.
Zakaria is asking for the details of the expenditure based on each vaccination centre set up for the purpose.
Additionally, Cha Kee Chin (PH-Rasah) wants to know if the government has any plans to lower the ceiling price for Covid-19 self-test kits which are currently priced at RM19.90 per kit.

KUALA LUMPUR: The issue of party hopping must be studied thoroughly before the government implements any new Bills to penalise MPs who switch parties, says Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad (Pejuang-Langkawi).
Dr Mahathir said he supported Bills to penalise party-hopping MPs, but the matter needs clearer definitions because the action is sometimes necessary when no parties have a clear majority after a general election.
"When there are no parties with enough numbers to form the next government, there is a need for parties to come together with major parties so they would have enough MPs to form the next government," he said in his speech on the Royal Address in Parliament on Monday (Sept 20).
