JOHOR BARU: Johor police have arrested 9,506 individuals, including syndicate members, for various drug offences including possessing and supplying within the first nine months of this year with 70% of them already charged in court.
State police chief Comm Datuk Ayob Khan Mydin Pitchay said the police were always committed and aggressive in carrying out operations to stop drug smuggling and trafficking syndicates throughout the country, in particular within Johor.
“We have recorded many successes with the arrests of syndicate members together with drug seizures and confiscating tools used in processing the illegal substances,” he said in a press conference held at the state police headquarters here Monday (Sept 20).

JOHOR BARU: Some RM1.04mil worth of drugs were seized in a special operation involving seven raids around Johor Baru and Iskandar Puteri here.
Johor police chief Comm Datuk Ayob Khan Mydin Pitchay (pic) said that 10 suspects, including two women, who are between the ages of 20 and 34 years old, were also arrested during the raids on Wednesday (Sept 15).
"We arrested a 30-year-old man and seized some drugs and equipment used to process it during the first raid.
"Following the first arrest, we were able to conduct six more raids where nine more suspects were arrested," he said, adding that all suspects are locals.
He said this in a press conference at the Johor police headquarters here on Friday (Sept 17).

JOHOR BARU: Police have detained 14 people for partying at a bungalow in Taman Perling here on early Thursday (Sept 16).
Johor Baru North OCPD Asst Comm Rupiah Abd Wahid said the suspects, all Malaysians aged from 20 to 41, were arrested at around 2.30am.
"The party started at around 10.30pm on Wednesday (Sept 15) and the bungalow was rented for RM2,000,'' she said in a press statement on Friday (Sept 17).
ACP Rupiah said the bungalow was rented by a 41-year old man, the organiser of the party.
She said police also seized a variety of drugs believed to be ganja, ketamine and ecstasy.
Five men, including the party organiser, also tested positive for drugs.
