PUTRAJAYA: The number of civil servants who have yet to be vaccinated is small, with close to 98% of them having been inoculated, says the Public Service Department (PSD).
Nevertheless, it said the matter needed to be addressed and be given priority to boost the people’s confidence when dealing with public officers at government premises.
"Also, getting more civil servants to be vaccinated would enable government services to be fully operational based on phases under the National Recovery Plan," it said in a statement on Tuesday (Sept 21).

PETALING JAYA: The government will discuss on penalties for civil servants who refuse to get vaccinated against Covid-19, says Khairy Jamaluddin.
The Health Minister said the ministry will discuss the matter with the Public Service Department (JPA).
“The MOH will talk to the JPA on what action can be taken against civil servants who are yet to be vaccinated.
“The action is for those who refused and not due to any health reason,” he told a media conference in conjunction with his working visit to Kedah at Wisma Darul Aman in Alor Setar on Sunday (Sept 19).
He said he has also requested employers in certain sectors to impose conditions that workers must get vaccinated if they want to return to work.
