Philippines struck by 5.9 magnitude earth quake

MOSCOW – A 5.9-magnitude earthquake hit the northern province of the Philippines, US Geological Survey (USGS) reported Saturday.

The earthquake occurred near Batangas in the country’s Luzon province at a depth of 42.7 kilometers (27 miles).

No information on casualties or damage from the quake has been provided yet.
