Home / Local Food and Eating Places / PENANG: SULAIMAN’S CAPATI

Sulaiman sells freshly made chapati, Roti Jala (net bread) and some desserts such as Bubur Kacang (Sweet Mung Beans Desserts). Their Chapati is seriously a must-try. You will be amazed by how soft and fluffy their chapati can be and how delicious is their home made curry. It just makes a light and perfect tea-time snack. A friendly reminder, do try to come as early as possible just to avoid disappointment, especially if you wish to savor their curry chicken as they will be selling like hot cakes.

Its highly recommended for you to eat at the food court right beside the stall as the chapati is best when served hot. Soft and fluffy, and the aroma of the chapati is simply irresistible. Each piece of this chapati is priced at Rm 0.80.
There be four types of curry in total which you can choose from, namely the Beef curry, Vegetables Curry, Chicken Curry and Sardine Paste. The pictures shown were about their Sardine Paste, the sardine paste brings a bit of sweetness with a hint of spiciness. Sardine paste is one of most recommended curries/sauces available.

Move on to the next curry sauce— Beef Curry (Rm 1.60). The thick and rich curry was very flavorful, together with some chopped beef, as well as some potatoes. The combination with the chapati was just perfect, soft on the outside, chewy bites inside, great flavor, great texture. Beef lovers should try this out.

One of the most demanding curry types will be none other than their Chicken Curry (Rm 3). As you can see, the chicken curry is very thick and creamy, unlike those watery and bland curry, this was actually very flavorful and complemented the Chapati/Roti Jala perfectly. It comes a big size of chicken and a piece of potato too. Highly recommended.
