10,000 tickets for the first show were sold in a few minutes, prompting them to do another concert the next day.
There, the band performed hits such as For Whom the Bell Tolls, Seek & Destroy and Enter Sandman, in front of more than 20,000 fans. The band released their 11th studio album, Hardwired … To Self-Destruct, on Nov 18.
The 2 CD / 2 Vinyl set earned the band their sixth number one album on the Billboard Top 200 and debuted at number one in 23 countries.
Formed in 1981 by drummer Lars Ulrich and guitarist and vocalist James Hetfield, Metallica has become one of the most influential and commercially successful rock bands in history, having sold 110 million albums worldwide.
