Thursday, 22 June 2017 : Rico Rinaldi and Tomita Senkogei have put their heads together to come up with a ready-to-wear Aidilfitri collection. The Summeraya designs combine exquisite Japanese fabrics with demure, flowy forms.
Rinaldi is a Malaysian designer known for his meticulous workmanship and love for detailing. Senkogei, on the other hand, is a highly respected Japanese artisan specialising in traditional kimono fabrics.
Rinaldi was apparently intrigued at how classic and iconic silhouettes would look like when made using those fabrics. The result is a fusion of aesthetics – or rather, a marriage of cultures.
This is Rinaldi’s second Hari Raya collection with Senkogei; the first offering was ready-to-wear. The collection is available in-store at Isetan Japan until the end of June.
