ALOR SETAR: Kedah Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Ahmad Bashah Md Hanipah said the Kedah players will be rewarded if they win the prestigious Malaysia Cup this season.

“I hope Kedah will enter the final and ultimately win the Malaysia Cup,” he told reporters after handing over the Kedah Football Association (KFA) bus at Wisma Darul Aman here, Tuesday.

Ahmad Bashah is also president of the KFA. Kedah, who emerged as Malaysia Cup runners-up last season, had received sponsorship worth RM1 million from Cosmic Express Bus Company.

Kedah is in third spot of the Super League table and has qualified for the Malaysia Cup quarter-final.

Kedah drew 0-0 against Negeri Sembilan in the Malaysia Cup first leg quarter-final match at Paroi Stadium, Seremban on Sunday.

The second leg quarter-final match will be played at Darul Aman Stadium, Alor Setar, on Sept 17.
