Lotte Chemical Titan to sign EPC contracts for LINE project

KUALA LUMPUR: Lotte Chemical Titan Holding Bhd’s Indonesian subsidiary PT Lotte Chemical Indonesia will be signing engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contracts for the Group A work package of its new integrated petrochemical facility in Indonesia.

In a statement, it said the facility known as the Lotte Chemical Indonesia new ethylene (LINE) project, which has an investment value of about US$3.95bil (RM17bil), will serve as the key expansion driver in Southeast Asia.

The onshore construction contract will be signed with PT Hein Global Utama, which is a joint venture between Hyundai Engineering Co Ltd and PT Hans Enjiniring dan Konstruksi, while the offshore engineering and procurement contract will be with Hyundai.

The said EPC works will comprise construction of a cracker plant with the capacity to produce, among others, 1,000 kilometric tonnes per annum (KTA) of ethylene and 520 KTA of propylene.

The total contract value of the Group A EPC work package is about US$757.2mil (RM3.1bil).

Lotte Chemical Indonesia will also sign EPC contracts for its Group B ad C work packages for the LINE project, which will cover works for the downstream plants and other infrastructure facilities.

The onshore construction contract will be signed with Lotte Engineering & Construction Co Ltd (LEC) and PT Jaya Teknik Konstruksi and the offshore engineering and procurement contract with LEC.

“With the latest development, all the pivotal aspects of the construction of the Indonesia LINE Project (ie the cracker, downstream plants, infrastructure facilities and so on) are now in place and we are set to commence the full project construction this year and the project will be slated for completion by 2025,” said Lotte Chemical Titan president and CEO Park Hyun Chul.
