As summer vacations get underway, we focus on high-tech gear that is both practical and compact for keeping your luggage under the weight limit. American manufacturer Anker’s solar charger will keep smartphones powered up this summer, no matter where you’re heading on holiday.
When exposed to the sun, the PowerPort Solar can automatically recharge any smartphone. It uses PowerIQ technology to ensure relatively fast charging from its onboard 21W monocrystalline solar panels. Plus, it can charge up to two devices at once.
This reasonably compact (28.2cm x 16cm, folded) and lightweight (400g) portable charger has sturdy stainless steel eyelets for easy attachment to a backpack or tent, for example. It’s also protected against short-circuits and power surges to keep users and their devices safe.
The charger is compatible with almost all models of smartphone, tablet or other devices that charge via a USB cable, with the exception of old iPod classic and nano devices, as well as the HP TouchPad and Asus tablets.
This solar charger makes an original alternative to traditional portable chargers, especially for fans of the great outdoors, such as campers and hikers.
