KLANG: Hai-O Enterprise Bhd has inked a collaboration agreement with Huawei Technologies (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd for the co-branding of Huawei Mate 9 smartphone.
For a start, an estimated 500 Huawei Mate 9 units with a limited edition Hai-O packaging will be available for Hai-O members and distributors to purchase.
“Plans in the pipeline are to develop an app as well as Hai-O user interface design, which will be incorporated in the future Huawei Mate 10 and P10 models,” said Hai-O managing director Tan Keng Kang after the signing ceremony.
On Wednesday, Hai-O proposed a 1:2 bonus issue of up to 101.1 million new ordinary shares of 50 sen each.
It also proposed to establish an employees’ share option scheme (ESOS) of up to 15% of the issued and paid-up share capital of Hai-O for eligible employees and directors of Hai-O and its subsidiaries, excluding those that are dormant.
For the second quarter ended Oct 31, Hai-O recorded 35.6% higher revenue of RM99.78mil and 78% increase in net profit of RM15.91mil.
This was mainly attributed to higher revenue achieved by the group’s MLM division, which saw additional sales from new products and higher recurring sales of consumer products such as personal & household, beverage and healthcare products from member customers, as well as the increase in monthly recruited new members.
