H7N9 outbreak : Hong Kong confirms second death

Friday, 6 January 2017

HONG KONG: A 62-year-old man died from bird flu in Hong Kong on Friday, the second such death this winter.

The man, who travelled to the southern Chinese city of Guangzhou in mid-December and was hospitalised in the neighbouring city of Dongguan earlier this week, died from H7N9.

Hong Kong has confirmed 3 human cases of H7N9 in three weeks, as fears grow over the spread of the disease in South Korea, Japan and mainland China.
