FF 91, a 1050 HP car that recognises faces and parks itself

Electric Vehicles are the future and FF 91 is as futuristic as they come. Unveiled recently by Faraday Future, the crossover style car is packed full of tech. The electric motor in the car has a peak power of 783 kW which equals 1050 hp! That’s Bugatti Veyron territory. Faraday Future says that the FF 91 will go from standstill to 96 km/h in 2.39 seconds.

The car is fitted with what is claimed to be the world’s highest density battery with a capacity of 130 kWh. There’s fast charging to give you 50% charge in 4.5 hours and the car’s range is about 600 km per charge. If this sounds more like a mobile phone than a car, you won’t be surprised to learn that Chinese phone maker LeEco has invested money in the project.

Faraday Future has given the car facial recognition tech, weirdly called Arrival Interface, that lets the driver and passengers unlock the car without a key. In fact there is no key. The car’s welcoming system recognises users as they approach and greets them by opening the door. Internal cameras recognise users and adjust the settings to their preference. Not just faces, the FF 91 also recognises expressions and can change the music, temperature and other settings based on that.

There are a total of 10 cameras, 12 ultrasonic sensors and 13 long and short range radars! The rear view mirror has been replaced by a high-def display. The live feed from the side mirrors and rear view camera displays a single image and eliminates blind spots.

The Driverless Valet parking feature enables FF 91 to park itself after the driver has exited the vehicle. The driver can even summon the car and using an app, schedule the time and location of pickup!
