FERRARI SUBMITS APPEAL PENALTIES ON VETTEL

Ferrari submit an application to the International Motoring Federation (FIA) to review the decision of race officials to impose a penalty on Sebastian Vettel in the Grand Prix (GP) Mexico. Four-time world champion was penalized 10 seconds for dangerous driving in his rivalry with Red Bull’s Daniel Ricciardo.

This caused him to end the race in third place on the podium, and was relegated to fifth place after a celebration of sorts. In his application, Ferrari said “a new element has been found” to support the view that, although the decision can not be changed, it is important to be an example. “Scuderia Ferrari has already submitted an application to the officer Mexico GP 2016 to review its decision to impose a penalty on Sebastian Vettel for violating Article 27.5 of the F1 Sporting Regulations 2016 as a result of the driving action on the Turn 4 on lap 70,” the team said

But it is important for the future, and to explain the application of the rules of the event in the future, the Scuderia Ferrari believes the decision should be reviewed.
