Earthquake off North Korea coast not result of nuclear test

WASHINGTON – The 5.8 magnitude earthquake off the coast of North Korea on Wednesday was of natural causes and not the result of a nuclear test, US Department of Defense spokesman Jamie Davis told Sputnik.

The earthquake occurred 125 miles off the North Korean coast at a depth of 350 miles, according to the Defense Department.

There were no reports of injuries or damage and no tsunami warning was issued.
