MANILA — One last contestant was eliminated as “Pinoy Boyband Superstar” announced the top seven contestants who made it to the grand finals.
On Sunday, James Ryan Cesena was the fifth and last contestant to be eliminated from the top 12.
He was included in the bottom four after failing to impress the judges with his performance Saturday. He then attempted to redeem himself with his performance of “Sunday Morning.”
Korean pop star Sandara Park liked Cesena’s performance, but Vice Ganda was not impressed.
Cesena was eventually eliminated from the competition after receiving only 11.54 percent of viewers’ votes.
Tristan Ramirez, Tony Labrusca and Ford Valencia completed the top 7.
Valencia garned the highest number of viewers’ votes at 42.56 percent, followed by Labrusca at 33.19 percent. Ramirez, who tied with Cesena after both getting two votes from the judges, was the last grand finalist, having received 12.71 percent of viewers votes.
The seven grand finalists will once again try to impress the judges next week in an attempt to earn one of the five slots in the boy band.
