Bachelor in Paradise Finale Recap: Engagements Galore!
The end has arrived. It’s time to pack up the bikinis and head home for the winter, but at least there’s a nice handful of folks who won’t be heading home alone.
Three couples left Paradise engaged tonight: Carly Waddell and Evan Bass, Grant Kemp and Lace Morris, and Josh Murray and Amanda Stanton.
Of course, new Bachelor Nick Viall did not propose to Jen Saviano, and left yet another Bachelor show in tears, but that was the only heartbreak we had to endure tonight, if you don’t count Grant and Lace’s constant confusion.
We begin with Evan and Carly, who wake up in the fantasy suite wearing matching white robes. Evan treated Carly to a poem/rap about how she’s gluten free, and then forgets the words. It was cringeworthy, but cute. We’ve somehow reached the point where even Evan’s cringiest moments are kind of cute, and we feel weird about it.
While the other couples suffered a few dramatic moments leading up to getting down on one knee, Carly and Evan had pretty much run through all their drama, so there wasn’t really a question as to whether or not they’d end up engaged.
Evan’s proposal was totally adorable.
“Will you freakin marry me?” he asked.
“That’s freakin’ perfect,” she said of the ring.
Ugh these two might actually be great for each other.
Up next, Lace and Grant!
They woke up in the fantasy suite a little bit less excited. The night had not gone as they had hoped, and Grant was unsure as to whether or not they should get engaged, or if they need more time.
“Why did we get tattoos if you’re just going to wake up the next morning and question if we should be engaged or not?” Lace rightly wondered.
Grant went off to think for a while, and Lace spent some time panicking. In the end, he proposed anyway, and his speech was straight out of a classic romcom.
“I love you when you’re happy, I love you when you’re stubborn. I love you when you’re sad. I even love you when you’re screaming at me. But mostly, I love you when you’re Lace. Lace, I can’t picture my life without you. I want a future with you. I want babies with you. You know, I want to build a life with you, and, uh, I want that to start today.”
She said yes, and all that panicking was for naught!
