KUALA LUMPUR: Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) on Thursday introduced a new night market in Jalan Berhala, Brickfields where 60% of the stalls are operated by Indian traders.
Federal Territories Deputy Minister Datuk Dr Loga Bala Mohan said the night market has the largest number of Indian traders compared to other night markets operating in Kuala Lumpur.
“This night market will serve as a tourism promotion as night markets have become a tourist attraction in Malaysia,” he said at a ceremony to launch the night market here, today.
He said the night market which opens every Thursday was found to have complied with the standard operating procedures (SOP) namely the organisational management, uniformity, cleanliness aspect and licensing compliance.
Loga said as of May 2016, 98 night markets were operating around the capital under the Night Market Rebranding and Transformation programme. — Bernama
