GOMBAK: Two armed men, believed to be from Gang 36, were killed in an early morning shootout with police following a high-speed chase along the Selayang-Kepong Highway.

The suspects – believed to be Uva and Sri Murni Boy – were in a Proton Waja near the Forest Research Institute Malaysia (FRIM) at about 4am when policemen on crime prevention rounds stumbled upon them.

Selangor CID chief Deputy Comm Datuk Mohd Adnan Abdullah said they sped off when police approached their vehicle and police gave chase.

“Their vehicle rammed into the police car and they fired several shots at the policemen.

“The policemen had no choice but to ram their car causing it to crash into a tree.

“The suspects exited their car and fired several shots at the policemen, forcing them to return fire and the two died at the scene,” he said.

Police found two pistols, bullets and 11 packets of drugs believed to be heroin and methamphetamine in the car.

“We also found two MyKad of other people as well as nine mobile phones,” he said.

He added that the suspects were involved in four murder cases in the Klang Valley.
